He was very successful from the start, allowing him to set up his own hedge fund, SAC Capital, in 1992. He later had to close the firm in 2013 after it was found guilty of insider trading and had to pay a $1.8 billion fine. As a result, Cohen founded Point72 Asset Management, a hedge fund that became the successor to SAC Capital. Today, Point72 Asset Management has $35 billion under management. In addition to his business activities, Cohen has donated much of his wealth to causes related to veterans and children’s health.
